Taylor is a second generation auctioneer and appraiser. He has grown up in the auction industry and has been a full time auctioneer since 2002, when he completed his training in auctioneering from the Mendenhall School of Auctioneering in High Point, NC. In 2008 he received his Personal Property Appraisers designation from the Certified Appraisers Guild of America.
Taylor served on the Virginia Auctioneers Association Board of Directors from 2008-2010. In 2011, Taylor was crowned Virginia State Champion Auctioneer. Taylor is a member of the National Auctioneers Association and the Virginia Auctioneers Association. Taylor worked for 15 years for his family auction business before founding Linkous Auction Group.
Taylor resides in Giles County, Virginia with his wife Amanda and his three children Conner, Sydney, and Caroline.

Amanda Rakes Linkous
Amanda has over six years’ experience in the auction industry. She has extensive expertise in developing photo layouts of valuable assets and cataloging for brochures and online sales, constructing flyers and other marketing materials, performing auction settlements, and assisting with contract development. Amanda is very customer focused and dedicated to seller/buyer satisfaction. She is very skilled at on-site auction management and assuring that the auction process goes smoothly.
Prior to working in the auction industry, Amanda received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Sciences Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education, both from Virginia Tech, and worked as a middle school teacher for 14 years. She has strong family ties to Southwest Virginia, and in particular Giles and Montgomery counties. She resides in Giles County with Taylor and their children.
